The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints offers FamilySearch accounts free of charge to everyone, regardless of tradition, culture, or religious affiliation. FamilySearch resources help millions of people around the world discover their heritage and connect with family members at over 5,700 local family history centers. Signing up for a free account will not subject you to proselyting or any other contact from the church.
What We Do
The American Fork FamilySearch Center, one of 37 largest Centers in the world, helps families discover their history through our website, mobile apps, and in-person help. We strive to create a productive and exceptional experience for each of our patrons. This website is our calling card, capability brochure, and scheduling center. It is part of our community and patron outreach.

The abundant genealogy and family history information from seemingly endless resources can be overwhelming, leaving many lacking in confidence, or not knowing where to even begin. We can help!
Our FamilySearch staff developed a Quick Start Training Guide and an Essential Training Guide, available for printing or downloading under the Training Resources Tab. We teach FamilySearch fundamentals because it is the easiest, most productive, most accurate way to grow the world family tree. Following correct principles allows FamilySearch computers to expand artificial intelligence and do more of the research for us. With just a few hours of study and practice, inexperienced patrons will be confidently on their way to efficiently doing their own work with stress-relieving focus and productivity while, also helping others with their Training. Even experienced researchers using our training guides are learning new productive ways to refine their methods and confidence with accurate growth of the world family tree, FamilySearch.

We have many Consultant volunteer openings on several shifts. You may serve one or more shifts helping patrons at the American Fork FamilySearch Center. Your training and practice here will make you more confident and helpful to others
We have volunteer Receptionist positions available on several shifts. While experience in genealogy is not required, a friendly, happy, engaging personality is very desirable for an exceptional patron experience.
